Após o disco de estreia de 2007 “Drive You Wild”, “Brunettes On The Rocks” é novo registo discográfico das Australianas The Shimmys, contando com a participação de Evan Millar (Hands of Time, Lords of Gravity) e Micky 66 (Breadmakers, Shutdown 66), este segundo disco é completamente fundido no género “wild girls garage rock” e repleto de momentos “martini shake” que produzem efeitos “60´s” quando o escutamos, levando-nos de imediato à dança, essa é a sua maior grandeza, levar-nos a descomprimir e a dançar. Falo de canções como a delicia “tree chord” que é “(He's My) Werewolf”, “Walkin’ Out On You” um “garage surf” incrustado de melodias “zombie”, a distorção sonora existente em “Two Pot Screamer” e a simples e bem composta colocação do órgão em “Whatcha Gonna Do About It”, isto sem contar com as “covers” existente, uma de Roky Erickson “Don’t Slander Me” e a outra o “Psycho” dos The Sonics. “Brunettes On The Rocks” é um disco simples e acima de tudo extremamente divertido.
