
"Think Rational!" deve ser a mais importante compilação editada este ano, sobre uma só banda, os The Rationals são oriundos de Ann Arbor/Detroit e existiram entre 1963 e 1970, tendo sido compostos por Bill Figg, Terry Trabandt, Steve Correll e Scott Morgan (este último mais conhecido como pertencendo a bandas como os Sonics Rendezvous Band, The Hydromatics e The Solution), iniciaram-se como um colectivo mais instrumental e aos poucos começaram a habitar os sons que os vieram a caracterizar como uma das bandas mais importantes de "garage soul/rock", em 1965 editaram o seu primeiro registo pela A2 (A-Square Records), composto pelas canções "Look What You're Doing to Me Baby" e "Gave My Love", mas foi mais tarde que, com a edição de duas covers, "Respect" de Otis Redding e "I Need You" uma versão dos The Kinks da canção original de Chuck Jackson, que os The Rationals atingiram algum sucesso, esse êxito chega-nos agora e nesta era através de "Think Rational!", composto por dois discos, o primeiro uma antologia entre 1965 e 1970 e o segundo uma maravilha que contem algum do material não editado, bem como covers com arranjos estrondosos, "Hold On Baby" de Sam Hawkins, "I Gotta Go Now (Out On The Floor)" de Rex Garvin & The Mighty Cravers e "Poor Dog (Who Can't Wag His Own Tail)" de Little Richard são disso exemplo. "Think Rational!" não sendo a completa história dos The Rationals, não é também e só um simples disco, mas sim uma antologia que nos estende um braço, pelo qual podemos atravessar melhor a história do “garage" dos 60s´.
