O segundo álbum dos The Hex Dispensers, "Winchester Mystery House" é novamente uma lição, naquilo que considero como “quanto mais directo melhor”, Alex Cuervo, Tom Kodiak, Alyse Mervosh e agora Dave Bessenhoffer, regressam com o seu bombástico e espontâneo punk/powerpop, após o fabuloso debut "st" (por aqui considerado um dos disco de 2007), este "sophomore" LP, confirma a impossibilidade de não se gostar dos Hex Dispensers, 12 faixas (uma delas uma cover dos Devo, "Gates of Steel"), desfizeram todas as dúvidas, a infecção é constante e é suportada pelas incríveis vocalizações de Alex Cuervo e Alyse Mervosh, pelos fortes acordes de guitarra e pelas energéticas linhas de baixo (a inclusão de Dave Bessenhoffer veio tornou os Hex Dispensers ainda melhores), que nos deixam as orelhas a escaldar, como em "Doomsday Romantic", "I've Got My Doppelganger On", "Lose My Cool", esta última repescada do 7" de 2008 da Douchemaster, bem como "My Love Is A Bat" e claro a fabulosa versão de "Gates of Steel". Os Hex Dispensers, neste disco voltaram a fazer das suas e com a coerência e inteligência, colocaram em cada canção a dinâmica suficiente musculada, para fazer deste disco um devaneio que flui corpo fora....Great stuff!!!.

The second album of The Hex Dispensers, " Winchester Mystery House" is again a lesson in what I regard as "the more direct better”, Alex Cuervo, Tom Kodiak, Alyse Mervosh and now Dave Bessenhoffer, return with is bombastic and spontaneous punk/powerpop, following the awesome debut "st" (here considered one of the records of 2007), this "sophomore" LP confirms that it is impossible not to like the Hex Dispensers, 12 tracks (one a cover of Devo, "Gates of Steel "), scrapped all the doubts, the infection is constant and is supported by incredible vocalizations from Alex Cuervo and Alyse Mervosh, by the strong guitar chords and the energy lines from the bass (the addition of Dave Bessenhoffer became the Hex Dispensers yet better) that leave us ears to scald, as in "Doomsday Romantic", "I've Got My Doppelganger On", "Lose My Cool", this one recovered from the 7" of the Douchemaster in 2008 as well as "My Love Is The Bat", and of course the fabulous version of "Gates of Steel”. The Hex Dispensers, in this record make their again, and with coherence and intelligence, placed in each song dynamics enough muscled, to make this one a reverie that flowing body out. Great stuff!.
