O Quarteira Rock Fest realiza-se a 4 e 5 de Setembro no Calçadão Nascente em Quarteira, com um cartaz abrangente, as sonoridades vagueiam entre os blues, o rock puro e o garage, esta abrangência faz deste evento um dos únicos casos em que a preocupação e aposta nas qualidades das bandas se sobrepõem à preocupação de fazer espectáculos para massas sem qualidade musical.

A organização está a cabo da Ass. União Sónica do Algarve em parceria com a Câmara Municipal de Loulé, sendo que as entradas custam 10,00€ os dois dias e 7,00€ cada dia.

No espaço de 1 semana, emergidos das tórridas paragens a sul de Portugal e de Espanha, irão realizar-se dois eventos marcados pelos sons do "garage rock".

De entre os deuses criadores de destinos volta a saltar Cazumbi, o volume 2 da série African Sixties Garage produzida pela No Smoke Records, o produto de uma pesquisa extremamente bem planeada e realizada, que nos deu e volta a dar a conhecer sons antes desconhecidos e que por ignorância (no sentido da falta de conhecimento e não da estupidez) não nos eram dados a escutar. A viagem volta a ser realizada entre Angola e a África do Sul, passando pelo Ghana, Camarões, Moçambique e Madagáscar. A imortalidade da alma e o espírito que vagueia pelo mundo em estreita participação com os vivos voltou a atormentar-nos, é Cazumbi!!!!!!!

Os The Dadds são uma banda francesa formada em 2002 em Rennes é influenciada pelo "garage freakbeat rock" dos 60's, de sonoridades um quarto "British" e três quartos "French", produziram 10 originais na pura tradição do "euro-beat-stomp", "Idées Choc & Propos Chic" é um puro registo de "beat rhythm" de visões primitivas do rock´n´roll, racionalizado no fuzz mas edulcorado por "french beat", disso são exemplo "De Musica Mediocrita", "Les Filles, Le Jerk & Les Motos", "L’Amour Avec Fénelon", "Passe-moi Ton Carnet" e "Le Bel Incompris", pelo meio sobressai "London Eye" que se destaca pelos deambulantes aumentos de tensão, este disco foi editado pela Groovie Records em formato de LP e em CD pela Green Cookie e é um disco que apresenta o "french-beat" ao seu melhor nível, e está muito perto do brilhante.

Os Sheetah Et Les Weissmüller (aka Cheeta o símio de Tarzan e Weissmüller ele próprio, o Johnny que imortalizou os notáveis contos de Edgar Rice Burroughs) são uma banda francesa de Lille, composta por cinco músicos concentrados naquilo que fazem, com sentido "retro" e por isso deslocaram-se aos Estúdios Circo Perrotti para gravar e produzir este "debut", "Hola Ye-Yeah!" é um registo composto por uma cover (superiormente interpretada) "My Little Red Book" de Hal David e Burt Bacharach (imortalizada pelo Manfred Mann em 1965) e que conta ainda com a participação de Jorge Explosion e onze originais imersos num ácido psicadélico de "yé-yé” , ventilado pela sonoridades do garage rock dos 60´s, de onde saltam a capacidade de criação instrumental através de belos efeitos sonoros de "fuzz", um omnipresente órgão e uma secção rítmica bem estruturada, tudo isto bem presente em "Hallucinations" e "Mets des Badges" que são possuídas por um freakbeat oscilante, "Chien Méchant" e "Ça Vient Des Trips" são exemplos da existência do "psych" neste disco, principalmente esta última que com os acordes de uma citara indiana transporta-nos para outras paragens. "Hola Ye-Yeah!" é um álbum que me abanou para além das expectativas, principalmente devido às fortes e saborosas peças vocais e instrumentais, façam justiça aos Sheetah Et Les Weissmüller e adquiram o disco.

Sheetah Et Les Weissmüller (aka Cheeta, Tarzan ape and himself Weissmuller, Johnny that immortalize the remarkable stories of Edgar Rice Burroughs) is a French group from Lille, composed of five musicians concentrates on what make, with a “retro” sense and so went to Circus Perrott Studios to record and produce this "debut", "Hola Ye-Yeah!" is a record composed of one cover (superiorly interpreted) "My Little Red Book" by Hal David and Burt Bacharach (immortalized by Manfred Mann in 1965) and that also counts with the participation of Jorge Explosion and eleven originals immersed in an acid of psychedelic "yé-yé”, ventilated by the sounds of garage rock of the 60's, where the ability jump through to creation of beautiful instrumental sound effects of "fuzz", a ubiquitous organ and a rhythm section well structured, being this present in "Hallucinations" and "Mets des Badges" that are possessed by an oscillating freakbeat, "Chien Méchant" and "Ça Vient Des Trips" are examples of the existence of the "psych" on this record, especially the latter than with the chords of a Indian Sitar takes us to other stops. "Hola Ye-Yeah!" is an album that I wag beyond expectations, mainly due to strong and tasty vocal and instrumental pieces, do justice to Sheetah Et Les Weissmüller and obtain the record.

Eles são terrivelmente formidáveis, este novo e segundo registo tem diferentes recuperações, o garage-rock 60´s e o R&B servem como fundo para o estilo "beat a go-go" de sotaque francês, de sabores reverberantes, iluminados pelas emotivas interpretações vocais, compondo uma mistura única de géneros, que se apoiam em batidas ritmadas, "Je Serai Terrible" da inicio à festa que existe neste disco, "Ce N'est Pas Une Vie" é uma versão soberbamente interpretada de Pussy Cat (versão original dos The Small Faces "Sha-La-La-La-Lee"), assim como "Où Va-T-Il?" (Où Va-T-Elle?) de Ronnie Bird, "Ne T'en Vas Pas" e "Nager" envolvem King Khan, a versão dos The Mojos "Everything's Alright" é inquietante e até final o "spin" de "french glamour" continua, "Ils Sont Formidables" é um disco de originais entrelaçado de versões ou vice-versa, que divulga canções antigas com roupagem nova e que raramente são reveladas com tamanho brilho.

They are “terriblement formidable”, and this new record has different recoveries, the 60´s garage-rock and the R&B serve as background for the French accent "beat a go-go" style, of reverberating flavors, illuminated by emotive vocal interpretations, composing a unique blend of genres that are based on rhythmic beats, "Je Serai Terrible" is the beginning of the party that exists in this record, "Ce N'est Pas Une Vie" is a superbly interpreted version of Pussy Cat (original of The Small Faces "Sha-La-La-La-Lee") as well as "Où Va-T-Il?" (Où Va-T-Elle?) of Ronnie Bird, "Ne T'en Vas Pas" and "Nager" involve King Khan, the version of The Mojos "Everything's Alright" is disturbing and, until the end the "spin" of the "french glamor" continues, "Ils Sont Formidables" is a record of original interweaving of versions or vice versa , which discloses old songs with new clothing and that are rarely disclosed with so great brightness.

Após o excelente disco de estreia "What’s The Time!?" editado a menos de um ano, "Don't Bother Us" é o novo disco dos Los Hories, este EP é composto por 5 temas que nos injectam de "rock´n´roll" e que mantêm o ritmo intenso de "garage r&b" num nível muito alto, capturando na perfeição o espírito mais "nugget" que existe em cada canção, soando no entanto bastante contemporâneo, tanto em "What’s The Time!?" como agora em "Don't Bother Us" a música deriva de estilos e modos de "garage 60´s", mas os Los Hories são capazes de reconhecer as suas influências, criando novas músicas que transcendem o habitual. Merecem mais do que uma simples atenção, ouçam-nos com ponderação.

After the excellent debut "What’s The Time!?" published less than a year, "Don't Bother Us" is the new album from Los Hories orie, this EP consists of 5 songs that are inject of "rock'n'roll" and which maintain the intense rhythm of "garage r&b" in a very high level, capturing perfectly the spirit of the "nugget " that exists in each song, sounding yet quite contemporary, both in "What’s The Time!?" now as in "Don't Bother Us the music comes from styles and modes of "60's garage", but the Los Hories are able to recognize their influence, creating new songs that transcend the usual. Deserve better than a mere attention, hear them with weighting.
